Steps to reproduce:

1.Go to the media settings of an image
2.Create a slug 
3.Try to insert a special character/link/reference in the slug


Observed Result:

It shows an error in the console: Uncaught Error: Offset could not be translated to a DOM element and offset: 63
Also if it is an inspector it goes all blank

This issue has resurfaced with error as "Uncaught Error: offset -1 out of bounds" when trying to insert a link/special character in a slug.

That was bug 71825, now fixed.

Nope, this bug must have a different cause because it occurs in test2 and production as well.
