marktraceur@midvalley-the-hornfreak ~> ssh multimedia-alpha.eqiad.wmflabs

If you are having access problems, please see: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Access#Accessing_public_and_private_instances
nc: getaddrinfo: Name or service not known
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
marktraceur@midvalley-the-hornfreak ~>

I expect this when an instance doesn't exist; but SSHing to bastion2 and then SSHing to multimedia-alpha works fine.

Relevant SSH config:

Host bastion1.eqiad.wmflabs
Hostname bastion2.wmflabs.org
ProxyCommand none

Host *.eqiad.wmflabs
ProxyCommand ssh -e none bastion1.eqiad.wmflabs exec nc -w 3600 %h %p
Comment 1 Mark Holmquist 2014-03-24 22:37:37 UTC
Hm - deployment-cache-bits01 is also not recognized, so maybe this is an issue with my configuration or eqiad bastion's or something.
Comment 2 Andrew Bogott 2014-04-21 15:54:25 UTC
I can ssh to both of those boxes using my proxy command. Note, though, that I use a different bastion, bastion-restricted.

It's possible that there was a minor DNS outage happening when you logged this bug... are things working properly now?
Comment 3 Andre Klapper 2014-10-16 11:54:45 UTC
mtraceur: Is that still an issue or is this obsolete?
