Some strange behaviour in the references UI: 1) Have an item with one statement (of type string) 2) Have one reference (of type string) for this statement 3) Reload the page 4) Click on edit for the reference 5) Click cancel 6) Click edit again for the reference and change the value 7) Click save You will see the "saving.." message twice, the reference UI will turn red for a moment (as there would be an error) and turns back to blue. However the change is saved correctly.
I cannot reproduce this issue. Also (nitpick), a reference is a snaklist, not a snak, so it does not be of type string, but rather has one snak of type string.
Change 121674 had a related patch set uploaded by Adrian Lang: Stop registering event handlers twice in referenceview https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/121674
Step 7) should be 'Press enter' instead of 'Click save'
