Intention: Add a pre-set edit summary to an edit using a gadget. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn on the gadget at en.wp: Preferences > Gadgets > Editing > "Add two new dropdown boxes below the edit summary box with some useful default summaries" 2. Edit any article with VisualEditor. 3. Save page. Don't click or type anything into the edit summary box. Just click on an item something from one of the dropdown menus added by the gadget, and then click on 'Save'. 4. Look for the edit summary in the page history. Actual Results: The edit summary displays in the textarea of the save dialog, but it is not saved with the edit. If you click in the textarea after (but not before) choosing an edit summary from the dropdown menu, then the edit is saved correctly. Reproducible: Always Confirmed in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox on Mac and Ubuntu.
Bugs with gadgets aren't tracked in Bugzilla (per community request about forking the discussion from on-wiki venues), so marking this as INVALID, sorry.
