I started adding a reference then clicked "cancel".

The statement still says "1 source" but there are no sources.

I reloaded the page and the "source" is still there, despite canceling / removing it!

Tried on the item, Unable to reproduce the issue.

think there still is weirdness going on but can't identify exactly what.

let's shall consider this duplicate of bug 63225 ;)
