Moving to TextExtracts component.
Honestly, I don't understand what's wrong with pronunciation and why it should be excluded.
The purpose of Hovercards is to give an overview of the topic, so you can decide whether or not you want to read the article. Pronunciation information is not necessarily detrimental to that, but space is at a premium on Hovercards and the pronunciation information is coming at the cost of other more useful information that serves the purpose better. That's only for Hovercards though. The same argument may not apply for other users of TextExtracts.
For Hovercard's purposes we are ignoring text inside of brackets. https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/132663/
