Steps to reproduce:

1.Open a page with VE
2.Insert a reference 
3.Open the reference dialog box again
4.Add a cite web template inside it
5.Save the reference

Observed Result:
A separate reference gets added just next to the existing reference

Test Environment: https://test2.wikipedia.org/
Browser: Chrome Version 26.0.1410.65
OS: MAC OS X 10. 8. 5

This happens not only for adding template rather doing any change/edit on the existing reference
