With the hovercards beta feature enabled, hover over the enlarge/magnify icon (two gray rectangles) below a thumbnail image, e.g. the ones in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparrow

Result: every icon pops up a hovercard containing only 

    Enlargement may refer to:

It's showing a hovercard for the redirected enwiki disambiguation page [[en:Enlarge]], I guess because that's the title attribute of the hyperlink:

   <img height="11" width="15" alt="" src="//bits.wikimedia.org/static-1.23wmf22/skins/common/images/magnify-clip.png">
  </a>

There might be a role for a hovercard to display meta information about the image (talk to Multimedia team?), but probably not on the enlarge icon.
