Steps to reproduce:

1.Go to this page:https://test2.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=22ndaprilFF&veaction=edit

2.Select the image:"K" which is now in 220x200 px size

3.Now go to Advanced Settings and select the tab "Default" and click on "Apply changes"

Observed Result:
It turns the image into full size 600x600 px

Also,
If you first make the image as full size, then click on default size and click on "Apply Changes" nothing happens

Yes, it turns the image to 600x600 because it's the image's original dimensions, which are considered "default" for image of the type "basic".

This is intended behavior.

Agreed; basic images have a default size of full size.
