Looking at the CSS for the beta / alpha/ image toggle buttons 
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php/Special:MobileOptions it's a big mess.

We should refactor this and put it in MediaWiki UI.

We moved to using mw-ui-checkbox so this bug is no longer relevant.
