Description Nicolas Raoul 2014-05-31 04:47:17 UTC
Uploading pictures takes a lot of bandwidth.
Many people have limited data plans, and thus can not us this app to its full potential.
This is even more true when travelling, because of roaming charges, and that's a shame. For instance, a lot of great Commons pictures of China have been taken not by local people but by travellers. Travellers have a sense of what is interesting, but they have roaming charges preventing them from using this app.

Solution:
1. Prepare the pics for upload (title, categories, etc) but do not upload them yet.
2. When on WiFi, upload all the queue (requires no human intervention).

As the Mobile Apps Team is focussing on the new, native Wikipedia app, the Commons app is no longer being maintained by the Wikimedia Foundation. I am WONTFIXing all open Commons app bugs to reflect that we will not be spending time fixing them.
