Description Oliver Keyes 2014-06-01 08:14:56 UTC
Query just failed with a (long-as-hell) message ending in:

Task ID:
  task_1387838787660_15166_m_023450

URL:
  http://analytics1010.eqiad.wmnet:8088/taskdetails.jsp?jobid=job_1387838787660_15166&tipid=task_1387838787660_15166_m_023450
-----
Diagnostic Messages for this Task:
Container killed by the ApplicationMaster.

TaskAttempt killed because it ran on unusable node analytics1015:8041

I wouldn't mind only the query took 2 days of runtime before dying, so. Not sure if this is linked to the general, hive-being-hinky bug or not.

Hi Andrew -- can you take a look and pull this node if it is indeed down?

thanks,

-Toby
Comment 2 Andrew Otto 2014-06-02 15:54:13 UTC
It was down and I don't know why! I couldn't get any output on the console. I have rebooted it and it seems fine now. I quickly looked through syslog and hadoop logs to see what happened, but didn't notice anything. The logs all just stop around 2014-05-31 04:42.

It is back up now.
