Description paladox2015 2014-06-01 13:17:49 UTC
hi please could we please bring back this collapsibleNav back into mediawiki because the toolbar to the right in bector now looks horrible. I know that extensions did not use it but It made the wiki look nicer. even if you replace with something else that is faster or update the codes please bring it back.

collapsibleNav was removed for a reason - see bug 39035 and the numerous announcements (Tech News etc) when that happened.

Ok. Thanks but even though it made Mediawiki a bit slower it made the navigation have a good look. It now looks horrible.

Andre, this change came as a surprise to me as an admin of a third-party MediaWiki installation. At first I thought my nav was broken!

Could you please direct me to some of the announcements? I'd like to learn more about the decisions and conversations that arose.

Deployment ChangeLog for wmf versions are at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_1.24/wmf4
For a stable release this would be mentioned in the ChangeLog too.
For Tech News, this was mentioned in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News/2014/20
