Description Moriel Schottlender 2014-06-04 15:49:16 UTC
When loading the language selection tool from the language annotation, the list takes a very long time to load (about 10 seconds on my local machine, varies in others) and after choosing the language, it takes about 10 seconds to be applied.

While it is being applied there is also no indication to the user that the system awaits action, so it seems for 10-11 seconds that nothing happened, and it's easy to dismiss the annotation before the action is done.

To reproduce:

1. Go to this example page https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/משתמשת:Mooeypoo/VE_Testing?veaction=edit
2. Mark some words and click "insert" -> "language"
3. Click on the "Find language" button
4. Wait for the list to open (long time)
5. Type 'en' to narrow the list and choose "English"
6. Wait for the inspector to update (long time)

On top of it taking quite a while to load and update, there is also no indication for the user that something is happening while they wait. As a result, if the user clicks anywhere on the screen while the language list is loading, then the language list will load while the annotation window already closed -- which will not update the annotation after you pick a language.

If you want to reproduce that bug, click anywhere on the screen between steps 3 and 4.

* Note: In the Hebrew wiki, you should also enable the language tool in the "Beta Features" preferences

Reproduced on
* Chromium Version 34.0.1847.116 Ubuntu 14.04 aura (260972)
* Firefox Version 29.0 on Ubuntu 14.04
* Chrome Version 35.0.1916.114 m on Windows 8
