Description od_mishehu 2014-06-05 15:10:38 UTC
When doing history merges, the "revision" created by the move can really get in the way of the proper history of the page.
Comment 1 Andre Klapper 2014-06-05 17:12:45 UTC
Could you elaborate please, or give an example link?
Comment 2 od_mishehu 2014-06-08 06:48:38 UTC
See, for example, [[en:category:Quebec stubs]] - I needed to delete the page after the move (the second time) to prevent an old revision from confusing the history.
Comment 3 Bawolff (Brian Wolff) 2014-06-08 06:54:32 UTC
History merging is kind of an obscure corner case of page moving. I think the accountability in the general case is more important than making the obscure case slightly more covenant.

Really I wish that someone would work further on Special:MergeHistory as a more sane approach.
