Description Sage Ross 2014-06-11 13:39:01 UTC
If you start playing a media file, for example the one in [[When Johnny Comes Marching Home]], and then navigate to another article, the file continues to play.

Also, if you press the home button to leave the app, the file continues to play in the background (unless you fully close the app by clearing from recent apps).

Also, it is possible to play multiple media files simultaneously (which is almost never a desired behavior), and it is impossible to turn one off unless you navigate back to the place where the player is within its article.

I'm not sure what the ideal way of handling media files in articles should be, but I think embedding a player within the app interface (instead of keeping it within the body of the article) would make sense. That way, when you tap to start playing a media file, it opens it in a player within the menu. Then you could continue navigating, but you could simply open the menu to control the playback.

Probably, audio focus should be abandoned when transitioning to other pages. This might help: http://developer.android.com/training/managing-audio/audio-focus.html

Had to revert this because it caused all audio to stop; not just from our app but from other apps as well.
