Description Alex Monk 2014-06-12 19:15:54 UTC
* Move your cursor anywhere in the document, don't select anything.
* Open the link inspector
* Set target anywhere
* Click back to document in the same position
* Press any key
* New character is shown, but is highlighted. If you undo and then redo, a pawn character appears.

Additionally, if you put your cursor in a block slug, open the link inspector in creation mode, and click back into the surface in the same place, the link inspector doesn't close. Then when you start typing, the same behavior as in comment 0 appears.
Comment 2 Alex Monk 2014-06-12 19:19:10 UTC
Sometimes I've managed to get this to create a pawn character at the same time as making the highlighted text. Appears to be to do with the target text.
Comment 3 Alex Monk 2014-07-25 21:22:19 UTC
Doesn't seem to happen anymore. Although we do now have bug 68590, which is pretty much these same steps but with another undo instead of redo at the end. Not sure about Roan's comment.
Comment 4 James Forrester 2014-07-25 21:46:38 UTC
Yeah, I'm going to declare this one also fixed in the re-write. The block slug issue is… interesting, and may deserve its own bug, but I'll comment on bug 68590.
