The default message for ConfirmEdit blocking a new post is "As an anonymous user, you can't submit external links. Please sign up for an account." But on WMF wikis, you actually need to be an autoconfirmed user. If I create an account, I still can't add an external link in a Flow post. As a workaround we could change the message on mw, meta, and enwiki. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Flow-spam-confirmedit As I understand it, when ConfirmEdit is properly integrated and shows a CAPTCHA it may show the actual problem with the posting, e.g. captcha-addurl "Your edit includes new external links." So this seems minor.
Created attachment 16132 [details] screenshots of wikipage and flow post Here's the captcha message for an anon adding a URL to a Flow post, and to a wikitext page. Flow's message: "Please confirm you are a human by solving the below captcha:" Mediawiki's message: [[mw:MediaWiki:Fancycaptcha-addurl]] (or at enwiki [[MediaWiki:Fancycaptcha-addurl]], etc) See also bug 59835 comment #6 which might be related.
(possibly this old bug should be closed, and a new one opened to collate the remaining Captcha work? I'm not sure. Added to trello as https://trello.com/c/YokJ2RP8/ )
