Easy reproduce case:

Go to [[World War II]]

Scroll down to any link to an article about a specific battle.

On the top of that article, there should be a link back to World War II.

Click that, you'll notice you're at the same position you were originally. 

Expectation: It should reset you back to the top of the page.

This behavior was added intentionally. Do you think maybe it should only behave this way when you visit saved pages?

The mental model for this should be if you're "returning" to the page then it puts you back where you were. For example, going to a saved page, or pressing the back button to return to it that way.

If you're navigating forwards (e.g. going from [[World War II]], to another article, then clicking on a link to [[World War II]] again), then it shouldn't happen.
