When entering a new value for a monolingual text property no default language should be selected. It should also not be possible to store a value with no language selected. Changes to the backend are needed for that as it uses English as default currently.

No, it should not be possible to store a monolingual value with no language. I think this is a mistake in the description.

My patch removes the default language from the monolingual parser:
