I can copy formatted text, such as a link or the large-font title of an article, and then paste it into the search box. If I do, it keeps its formatting, which can then make it difficult to edit and in some cases, difficult to read.

Pasted content in the search box should be converted to plain text.

This is actually a more general problem, as documented in bug 65606; formatting should be stripped when you paste *anywhere* into the app.
