Description jeremyb 2014-06-29 01:59:16 UTC
2014062710000171 has extra articles.

Was merged by checking several checkboxes on the "queue view" and then bulk -> merge to oldest.
Comment 1 jeremyb 2014-06-29 02:12:06 UTC
Or maybe those articles already existed and were just moved with the merge? needs more testing.
Comment 2 Patrik (pajz) 2014-06-29 07:02:27 UTC
The report is somewhat hard to confirm since even admins cannot access the ticket you mention (provided it even exists at hasn't already been deleted).
Comment 3 Patrik (pajz) 2014-06-29 07:08:02 UTC
Erm, forgot the question: Can you check if the ticket number is correct and, if so, say where the ticket is?
Comment 4 jeremyb 2014-06-29 07:27:56 UTC
I think wikimania-info::wikimania-registration. But I'd have to double check to be sure.

That was correct. Not deleted.

In the ticket history I see 7 merge ticket actions. I'm not sure exactly what the issue is here. Are there more tickets merged than should be? It could be user error caused by clicking on too many boxes.

I also could be misunderstanding the situation altogether. :-) Patrik -- I think it's fine for you to give yourself temporary access to the queue to investigate this issue if you'd like.
Comment 7 Patrik (pajz) 2014-08-20 17:34:25 UTC
After checking the ticket, I share jeremyb's suspicion from comment #1.

As an example, take the two emails from 16:11, 06/27/2014. One of the copies comes from 2014062710015316, the other comes from 2014062710015325. Which again is expected behavior since the email was addressed to both wikimania-registration@wikimedia.org and visas@wikimedia.org, which both end up in OTRS but in different queues (in which case OTRS creates multiple articles for one email). The same is true for the other articles that exist twice.

The explanation for you being able to merge them from queue view is probably that you have selected both queues (wikimania-registration and wikimania-registration::passport-visa) as 'my queues' (which I've just confirmed you have).

I'll close this bug for now, but please reopen it if you think I've missed something.
