Description Nicolas Grilly 2014-06-30 15:49:42 UTC
I've noticed that text on Wikipedia is rendered without subpixel antialiasing since a few days, on Chrome and Safari on Mac OS X 10.9.

This is caused by the CSS rule -webkit-backface-visibility: hidden.

Disabling this rule brings back the subpixel antialising.

Subpixel antialiasing really improves text legibility. This is why it exists in the first place.

I don't know for which kind of CSS animation the rule was added, but it would be great to remove it if it is possible, to get back legible text.

Thanks for your great work!
