There are placemarkers in the TOC and term box: http://snag.gy/hXJbh.jpg happens logged out and logged in, even after purging pages.

problem happened because I had enabled wikivoyage extensions (CustomData, GeoCrumbs) and one of the hook handlers returned false, thus interfering with Wikibase hook handlers. we don't have these extensions on Wikidata, so not a problem, although who knows if/what problems this causes on Wikivoyage with interaction with Wikibase or other stuff.
