Followup from my idea on Gerrit change #144112. It would be super useful for development to have the same wiki available in the browser via both PHP and HHVM. Easiest would be on different ports I think but we can bikeshed on implementation.
How about a separate vhost on the same port? We could set it up to be php5.wiki.local.wmftest.net or something like that pretty easily.
As you know, translatewiki.net uses BetaFeatures for this: https://git.wikimedia.org/blob/translatewiki.git/208fe1c45622b0385604b9cb0a1bd75eb9f3cd4f/TranslatewikiSettings.php#L468
Yes, that's not really an option here. I want to be able to open two tabs and compare things. All other things (preferences, user account, etc) being held equal :)

Clarify the summary maybe? > All other things (preferences, user account, etc) being > held equal :) Well, on translatewiki.net you just have to delete the cookie and the next request is served without hhvm. Sure, not hyper-friendly.
Change 149243 had a related patch set uploaded by BryanDavis: Add role::php5vhost https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/149243
Change 149243 merged by jenkins-bot: Add php5 vhost for main wiki https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/149243
Puppet will now provision a php5 vhost serving the default wiki at http://php5.local.wmftest.net:8080/ (port may vary based on configuration).
