Description Chad H. 2014-07-04 01:23:33 UTC
Followup from my idea on Gerrit change #144112.

It would be super useful for development to have the same wiki available in the browser via both PHP and HHVM. Easiest would be on different ports I think but we can bikeshed on implementation.

How about a separate vhost on the same port? We could set it up to be php5.wiki.local.wmftest.net or something like that pretty easily.

As you know, translatewiki.net uses BetaFeatures for this:

Yes, that's not really an option here. I want to be able to open two tabs and compare things. All other things (preferences, user account, etc) being held equal :)

Clarify the summary maybe?

Well, on translatewiki.net you just have to delete the cookie and the next request is served without hhvm. Sure, not hyper-friendly.

Comment 7 Bryan Davis 2014-08-18 15:43:34 UTC
Puppet will now provision a php5 vhost serving the default wiki at http://php5.local.wmftest.net:8080/ (port may vary based on configuration).
