I am the RD to which Lego refers to. ;-)

Rather than creating a css hack to hide the effects of VE, it should be an option somewhere in user preferences to "disable" VE.  The default can be set to having VE enabled.

I am an OTRS administrator.  Some were originally under the impression that this was going to be the case but as of now there is no way to opt-out other than personal scripts.

Hmm, I guess "Temporarily disable VisualEditor while it is in beta" works. Missed that.
