Could we add a donation link to the main navigation, which routes to donate.wikimedia.org?

We're aware and a change is going to take place at some point in the near future. Shall I ping you then, or can we deal with an ugly page for a month or two?
That's Maryanas call but I would definitely argue against surfacing a badly optimised page prominently in the UI as it reflects badly on my developer skills ;). Happy to assist in making that page look pretty.
Maybe a good chance to use mediawiki-ui, too? :)

Yeah, definitely let us know when the donate landing page gets a mobile facelift! Sending mobile users to it now seems a little cruel and unusual..
