Adding new attributes to SearchResult and subclasses is a royal pain in the ass. Special:Search has to be screwed around with to handle this metadata in some UI way.

So this bug is two things. Clean up SearchResult to have a useful way of returning $randomMetadata and a way to display it.

Yeah this needs a lot of code cleanup; let's spend some time at Wikimania looking at this stuff.

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/152727/ has a proof of concept partial implementation of a metadata array field which could have things stuck in it, but doesn't hook up to a backend yet.

I believe Chad did some general cleanup work as well which should be hiding somewhere...
