Description Moriel Schottlender 2014-07-25 23:19:50 UTC
This is a weird bug, so I'm going to put in two ways of reproducing it, hoping that it will help seeing what causes it:

1. Edit an existing page (like this one http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/User:Mooeypoo/Test?veaction=edit )
2. Add a link to the word "frame"
3. Click 'save' and then choose "Review your changes"
4. The presented wikitext is valid. Now *don't* save, cancel the dialog back to editing
5. Change the link to from 'frame' to 'something'
6. Click 'save' and choose 'Review your changes'
7. The wikitext is [[frame]] (the old change) and not the new one.

This also happens with images:

1. Edit a page in VE
2. Insert a new image (thumb with default size)
3. Click 'save' and then 'Review your changes' and verify the wikitext is good.
4. Cancel the save dialog and edit the image again
5. Choose "frame" instead of "thumb" in the media dialog advanced settings page
6. Apply the change
7. Click 'save' and then 'Review your changes' again
8. The wikitext is an image of 'thumb' and not frame.

As far as I can see, this only happens if I check the 'Review your changes' dialog in between. So, the next save is not stored properly, if that makes sense. When I did all the above without checking the save->Review your changes in the middle, it worked perfectly.
