Created attachment 16055 [details] Screenshot of too-small comment popup Currently, when the orange comment icon is clicked, we see only the first few words of the comment. To read the whole comment, we have to click again, which takes us to the edit view. You shouldn't have to launch the editor just to read the whole text. The little popup that comes up when you first click the icon (I've lost track of VE jargon, sorry) should show the entire comment text, over multiple lines if necessary, and preferably in black or a darker gray.
No. People writing long comments is a sign that they're doing it wrong, and encouraging such bad practice is contrary to helping editors.
You don't think 8 words is rather too short?
(In reply to This, that and the other (TTO) from comment #2) > You don't think 8 words is rather too short? The number of words shown is language dependent. On my system, if the comment is "This is a ridiculously-long sesquipedalian comment." you get everything except " comment." If the comment is "Please don't change Obama's name." it shows the entire thing, which is the point of showing the snippet version.
