Comes from: https://ticket.wikimedia.org/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentTicketZoom&TicketID=7698122; Wikipedia is like a e-book reader, the most of the time the user read a page (before he edit/create one (hopefully) ;)), so it's possible, that the screen goes off faster as the user scrolls down/up. Maybe it's possible to add a configuration setting, to change the duration time before the screen goes off when the Wikipedia app is the app, the user use atm?
I don't see this happening, for the following reasons: - Keeping the screen on would require a new Permission for the app, which our users would frown upon. - I would consider our app to be more like a web browser, rather than an e-book reader. Generally, mobile browsers don't require the screen to stay on longer than the default setting. In short, if a user finds that the screen is turning off before they can finish reading a screenful of text, then the user should adjust the global screen-on time in Android settings.
