If you scroll to bottom of an article and tap the "Modified X hours ago by..." button the dates presented are not localized. I believe there are baked-in methods for getting localized date strings...

Turns out this was actually working -- you have to set "regional settings" for date formatting as well as the language or it'll keep on giving you "inglés (Estados Unidos)" or whatever for your dates.

Weird, but it works when the regional setting is set too. :D
