Description paladox2015 2014-08-03 16:18:19 UTC
Hi MainteniceShell does not work well in Mediawiki 1.24. it comes up with error when running update.php but before the update to 1.24 it was working. but when running in the web browser it doesent come up with the error trough mw-config/

steps to reproduce

go to website then go special page then click on maintenice shell then go through the list and click on update.php and then try running the update.php script.

and also the list is now shown full instead of click on the dropdown.

Please read https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug and for future reference, use https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?format=guided to report bugs.
This report is entirely missing error output, and "it's broken" is not a helpful description. Also, exact version information is welcome. Always.
Plus I tried to follow the steps and they are likely wrong, because I have no idea where and how to "click on update.php".

Oh well the version I have is 0.5.0 and MediaWiki version 1.24 Wmf 16 and to click update.php there should be a long list with update.php and then in the command you put php update.php.

You ignored half of the questions in comment 1. For example, "This report is entirely missing error output, and "it's broken" is not a helpful description."
Comment 4 paladox2015 2014-08-04 12:22:03 UTC
Oh I doint know how to find the error output or if it is broken.
Comment 5 Andre Klapper 2014-08-04 12:39:01 UTC
Then describe what exactly "is broken" please, because so far you have not described any bug at all in this report.
Comment 6 paladox2015 2014-08-05 10:04:52 UTC
Well I went to mainteniceshell in my wiki and when I got there the list that you click to show full list already shows it fully and when trying to run update.php it says query bug in your MySQL but when I run the web updater it works perfectly and dosent say any error.
Comment 7 Andre Klapper 2014-08-05 11:14:49 UTC
Last call to provide the actual full output instead of paraphrasing it...
Comment 8 Florian 2014-08-19 18:38:26 UTC
Just for info: I'm using wmf16 and MaintenanceShell 0.5 in my production wiki, too. Use several scripts sometimes, all without errors.

Run now the update.php script without problems, all ok. I would suggest to close this bug as "WORKSFORME" until paladox2015 give more (and better) bug information :)

Hi I found where the bug is. It is a size issue it works in mediawiki 1.23 but not mediawiki 1.24 or higher
