Context: WikiFON.org Sidebar If I put even Comments into the editor of MediaWiki:Sidebar on the MonoBook skin, either all Navigation entries are removed, or only Help appears. If I delete everything from the edit box of Sidebar, then the following appears: * Main Page * Community Portal * Curent Events * Recent Changes * Random Page * Help * Donations I suspect these were set up by the original developer, who disappeared :( How can I find the code that drives this and change it?
See [[mw:Manual:Interface/Sidebar]] for how to correctly set up a MediaWiki sidebar/ See [[w:MediaWiki:Sidebar]] for an example. In particular, double-bracket syntax is not used, and you will probably need to purge the cache of the page to see the change. Finally, I should note that Bugzilla is a place for reporting bugs. The place to request MediaWiki software support is [[mw:Project:Support desk]]. Thanks!
Here is my code for the SideBar, with the square brackets removed. * Navigation **mainpage **Stories ***Group_Story_Index ***Region_Story_Index **Groups **General_site_map **Help * search The Show Preview appears as though correct. But when I <Save Page> the sidebar is completely missing. I have a graphic snapshot of the Editor screen with all of this clearly shown, but can't figure out how to attach my file to this bug. If not a bug in the code, then this is a bug in the documentation, as it is not adequately explained. The Preview does not match the parsed result, which is even more frustrating.
Please bring this up on [[mw:Project:Support desk]] first.
