Compilation of ffi can be quite memory intensive. Can you verify how much RAM you've allocated to the VM, and maybe run top next time you provision (`vagrant reload` before trying again)?

Still fails, even with 2GB RAM. http://pastebin.com/p4m9vvY2

No idea of how, but this bug has gone away. Might have been external.
