bogus "no results" found in Media interface

Seen if Firefox, less so in Chrome

On any page in beta labs e.g. http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Media_Interface_VisualEditor_Test?veaction=edit

Click Insert/Media. Message "no results found" appears.

Search for media that returns results. "no results found" message persists. See screen shot.

In Chrome, "no results found" flickers but ultimately disappears when media thumbs are displayed.

Also note that search results for Media in Firefox are different than in Chrome, and Firefox seems to be less correct.
