Over at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28policy%29#Change_the_name_of_reviewers_to_.22Pending_changes_reviewer.22>, there is a consensus emerging to rename the "reviewer" user right to "Pending Changes Reviewer", to be in better line with what the role allows you to do. I am aware the discussion is not yet closed, but it appears to be stale.
Some pointers on what to change if the proposal succeeds: Project pages: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Protection_policy#Pending_changes_protection https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reviewing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Reviewer Templates: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Requests_for_permissions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Reviewer_granted https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:User_wikipedia/Reviewer Interface pages: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Group-reviewer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Group-reviewer-member https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Grouppage-reviewer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Pendingchanges-list
(In reply to Zhaofeng Li from comment #1) > Some pointers on what to change if the proposal succeeds: All of these can be edited by admins on-wiki, so it may be best to centralise discussion on this there. This is not likely to be a quick process, so no rush.
As Mdann52 says, everything necessary for this can be done on-wiki. Shell users don't need to do anything.
Ummm... No. The actual user right (unless I'm mistaken) needs renaming through this. The various messages can be edited on-wiki, but not the core request here.
We never rename the "actual" user right. Autopatrolled is still called autoreviewer, administrator is still called sysop, etc.
Ah right, fair enough.
