Description Todd Allen 2014-08-25 04:33:22 UTC
When using my mobile, there is no longer any way to permanently disable the mobile interface and use the desktop interface instead. Previously, there was a "Permanently disable mobile" link which would permanently request the desktop site for the device and browser on which the option was selected. Now, however, there is no such link. Selecting "Desktop" in the "Mobile|Desktop" selection only lasts for approximately 24 hours, after which the interface once again reverts to mobile and must be switched again to desktop.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help_talk:Mobile_access#Turn_mobile_access_off for other users who are experiencing this issue.

Hi, some changes we made went live, can you check if it works for you after clearing cookies?
Comment 3 Todd Allen 2014-09-17 20:23:32 UTC
Max,

I blew out the cookies and went back to desktop. I'll update in a couple of days if that persists now.

Thanks, Todd

No luck, I'm afraid. Was back on mobile this morning.

Is your browser in privacy mode?
Comment 6 Todd Allen 2014-09-18 17:46:00 UTC
No, it isn't, just checked to be sure. I also don't have any trouble with persistent cookies or settings on other sites.
Comment 7 Florian 2014-11-16 02:26:15 UTC
Hi, what browser do you use? I don't know any mobile browser providing this function, but maybe there is setting, that cookies (and/or cached data) is deleted, when the browser is closed?
