Description metatron 2014-08-26 07:50:41 UTC
When using "notuselang" in query:meta/notifications, the parameter seems to be ignored or doesn't work.

Tried several combinations of "notformat" (html/text/flyout) and "uselang" (en, EN, en-GB ...)
The language of the message seems to be fixed to the language of the sender's wiki.

Eg:
Superyetkin, mesaj sayfanıza bir mesaj bıraktı.
should be translated to:
Superyetkin left a message on your talk page

https://tr.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?
action    = query
meta      = notifications
format    = json
notprop   = list|count|index
notformat = html
notlimit  = 4
notuselang= en

Use uselang=en, this is what the Echo javascript has been using, although this seems to throw an API unrecognized parameter warning.

I am not exactly sure why notuselang doesn't work, maybe this is because this is a echo specific paramter

Yeah, that worked! thanks.
Though notuselang should be fixed.

So, if "uselang" works and "notuselang" doesn't - is this an API or an Echo- issue?
