Created attachment 16340 [details] Screenshot of embeded video I think it would be better to distinguish better videos and pictures: a) in media selection b) in the text itself a) if Id like to add video, I am not able to determine, which previous in media selections are videos and which not. Thus I must go to Wikimedia Commons anyway and add it like a unique filename. b) attached screenshot shows, I add somethink and it still looks like an image - even its a video file.
Created attachment 16341 [details] Screenshot from Firefox 31, no problems Which browser and version is that (such information is always welcome)? No problems here to get the "Play" button overlay with Firefox 31 on Linux, see screenshot.
[Rephrasing bug summary; please insert browser & version there]
Sigh. VE! Confirming. I should get more coffee. Sorry for all the noise. Ignore my last two comments please. Still, what's the usecase of knowing in VisualEditor if it's a video or image? That you don't want to add another video if there is already one?

Your screenshot is from "read" verstion, mine is from "edit". > Still, what's the usecase of knowing in VisualEditor if it's a video or > image? That you don't want to add another video if there is already one? Well, you want to know if you are adding video or image.
This is really two bugs, and should be split, but leaving for now…
