I was cutting & pasting sentences and it worked nearly flawlessly, including the references! :)

Though, somehow during cut & paste of a reference to the end of a sentence, the period ended up inside the wiki link:

it's possible there is some user error involved, although see if this can be reproduced...

If you're typing at the end of a link and press ' ' (space), '.', or one of a bunch of other characters defined in Unicode as word-separators, we terminate the link before the new character.

It's possible, however, to insert a sequence with a '.' or similar via rich copy-and-paste; I'm not sure if we should strip it here or not. Seems a bit magical…
