Description Ryan Kaldari 2014-09-08 09:56:21 UTC
This seems doable and would be an improvement on the current UI (in which all links are stripped from the API data).

Note that the link will point to the desktop site - the author name is just a piece of HTML extracted from the HTML code of the {{Information}} template, without any attempt to interpret it.

There's another potential problem. Having two text links so close to each other (the author link and the license link) will make it difficult to accurately hit either link on a touch device, especially in languages like Chinese where the author may be only 2 characters. On small devices, it probably makes sense to limit the footer to 2 touch targets: the license on the left and the 'Details' button on the right (that links to the Commons page). After discussing with the product manager, I think we're going to leave this how it is for now.
