It if needed for metapedical work to know easily whether the image you see is in local wiki or in shared repo (on Commons for WMF wikis) so you can see probable nonfree images misuses and so on. I use a makeshift badly written script imitating such a thing < https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Base/highlightLocalImgs.js > but it would be loads better if I'd just have some mw-img-local mw-img-shared or whatsoever called CSS classes to be used via simple CSS styles.
