Description ssastry 2014-09-22 23:44:06 UTC
Pipetricks were added to the wt2html pipeline as part of bug 38514. However, they don't belong in the wt2html pipeline. They are primarily a wikitext-to-wikitext transformation (pre-save) that is a useful convenience for wikitext editors but is not part of "core wikitext" which the parser handles.

See https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38514#c5

Perhaps, all this PST stuff should get moved out into a separate module since we may want to support a pst-transformation layer for clients ... currently subst/safesubst is under discussion for VE.
