- we should kill those non standard play/fast forward icons and make them me.ui neutral. - checkboxes are unstyled
would we want to use mw-ui-icon to associate icons with them still?
I don't think its necessary to have icons on the pagination controls.
I think the play/fast-forward icons are actually a pretty good metaphor for this page. I'm not stuck on those icons, but four identical (other than the text) neutral buttons (with no icons) might be a little less usable.
Other sites do use icons for paging. Gmail uses < > icons with text tooltips, at least with the view I'm on. But I'm sure some sites show both text and icon right away.
I wouldn't be opposed to using the button style which has icon in it, but I don't think that control is ready yet. I'd suggest we use the standard size for now and log a bug to use the style with icons when it is ready…sound reasonable?

Do you mean a button with both icon and text, or a button with just an icon? The former is ready and safe to use (older browsers will only see text, which is fine). The second is not safe to use.
