Description Krinkle 2014-10-07 21:29:59 UTC
The gmond process seems obsolete since the aggregator is down. ganglia.wmflabs.org is still up, but no longer being populated.

The deamon seems to be taking up a large amount of memory over time (maybe it's buffering up all the data points, unable to send them).

Yuvi tried to restrict it to production with this change:
 https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/165360/

But after cherry-picking that on integration-puppetmaster, and running puppet agent on integration-slave100{1,2,3}, and manually killing gmond, it is still being started again within a few minutes.

I suspect some auto-start script needs to be made ensure => absent.
