Description WhatamIdoing 2014-10-13 21:15:36 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1. Open a page containing the <references /> block (so you can see what happens as you change citations).

2. Create a new citation or edit an existing one, using a citation template (e.g., Cite web) in the Cite menu.

3. See a blank line displayed before and after the citation.

This can be reproduced in Safari 6.2 and Firefox 32 on Mac OS 10.8.5. It happens with Marielle's script for Citoid and with manually completed citation templates. cannot be reproduced by adding text to the Basic citation dialog (although it can be reproduced by using the Cite menu within the Basic citation dialog).

This is a display-only problem. When the page is saved, everything is normal (e.g., https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=629488479&oldid=629487984).
Comment 1 James Forrester 2014-10-21 18:14:23 UTC
Is this caused by our recent changes to how references are evaluated?
Comment 2 Roan Kattouw 2014-10-22 21:33:55 UTC
I can't reproduce this (any more?).
