File pages get file cached. This way the file usage info is never updated.

unfortunately this report is not very useful because it does not describe the problem well. If you have time and can still reproduce the problem, please read https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug and add a more useful description to this report and also steps to reproduce the problem.

Andre Klapper: I cannot make it much more clear than that.

If file pages are filecached, the file usage links don't update.

So for File:whatever.svg, the "File usage" section does not update, I guess.

Which MediaWiki version is this about? Do you use Apache with mod_file_cache, or which webservers was this tested with? 
Environment information and steps to reproduce are welcome, as usual.
