Environment- test2, beta, production

1> insert an external link to a blank page. Number generated for this link is “1”.
2> hit enter a couple of times, to move the cursor down
3> Click to insert media ,in the media settings dialog enter  the same external link in the caption sub-editor.Click to insert.
4> notice the auto-numbers generated beside the external links.Number generated for the link in media is “2”.
5> Save the page. And notice that the media file external link’s auto-number has now changed to #1 and the external link in the page is #2.

Confirmed in betalabs - the steps to reproduce the bug are exactly as described by Ritu.

This feels like we should fix this in MediaWiki rather than in VisualEditor. Alternatively, we could just wait for Parsoid HTML for read mode to come along, which fixes this that way instead. Meh.
