Description Maryana Pinchuk 2014-10-29 19:24:46 UTC
Steps to repro what I think might be the "giant hamburger bug" we just closed:

1. Go to any article in stable that is in more than 1 language
2. Tap on the "read in another language feature" and start typing to find another language
3. Tap on the X to close the languages overlay

You'll get thrown into a super zoomed view of the article you were just on.

Comment 2 Maryana Pinchuk 2014-10-29 19:32:30 UTC
This is on iPhone 5/iOS 8
Comment 3 Bahodir Mansurov 2014-10-29 19:59:54 UTC
I'm not able to reproduce this in the Chrome emulator, somebody may want to test it on a real device?
Comment 4 Jhernandez 2014-10-29 23:35:36 UTC
I'll try with the iOS simulator (a good excuse to download it)
Comment 5 Jon 2014-10-29 23:39:47 UTC
Yeh this must be ios specific. It doesn't sound like it is the same as the giant hamburger issue
Comment 6 Jon 2014-10-29 23:40:19 UTC
Is it just the language overlay or does search/edit have the same issue?
Comment 7 Jhernandez 2014-10-30 00:26:01 UTC
I've reproduced it using the iOS simulator with iPhone 5 and iOS8.1.

It happens both in the language overlay, and in the edit overlay (go to edit, press back button).

Change 170265 had a related patch set uploaded by Jhernandez:
Avoid megazoom after tapping input and closing overlay

Comment 9 Jon 2014-11-04 00:52:32 UTC
I can't seem to replicate this on beta labs or local master.... I think removing the tap code may have fixed it?
Comment 10 Jhernandez 2014-11-04 10:26:24 UTC
I can't reproduce the issue in the iOS simulator either, so this has stopped being an issue. I'll abandon the patch on gerrit.

So weird...

Should we mark this one as resolved?
Comment 11 Gerrit Notification Bot 2014-11-04 10:27:45 UTC
Change 170265 abandoned by Jhernandez:
Avoid megazoom after tapping input and closing overlay

Reason:
Issue is not happening in master, so this patch is not necessary now.

I blame tap events! :)
